Michael “Mick” Rodgers named finalist for Outstanding Benefits Broker or Consultant Leadership in the 2018 Health Value Awards

Burlington, MA— March 20, 2018.

Axial Benefits Group (ABG) announced today that Mick Rodgers, principal and managing partner, ABG, was named a finalist for Outstanding Benefits Broker or Consultant Leadership in the 2018 Health Value Awards (HVA). The winners will be announced Sunday, April 29, 2018 at The Employer Health Care Cost and Quality Congress, Health Value Awards Ceremony in Washington, DC.

“Being nominated for our health value achievements is exciting because it recognizes the most important part of what we do,” said Rodgers. “We use techniques within a proven process to consistently help organizations provide better benefits to their employees and lower their costs at the same time. If more people are able to do this, healthcare becomes more efficient and affordable to all and that’s what we’re after.”

Presented by World Congress, The Health Rosetta Institute and The Validation Institute, the Health Value Awards recognize individuals and organizations who demonstrate leadership and ingenuity in advancing healthcare through innovative practices that enable better care at lower costs. Nominees are evaluated based on outcomes, processes, scalability and the overall impact their approach may have on the health care benefits industry.

Rodgers and ABG are pioneers in healthcare purchasing coalitions (HPC), which allow smaller and mid-size companies to purchase employee benefits as larger companies do. The Staffing Exchange and the newly launched Alliance Healthcare Coalition are the only independent HPCs in the market today, a distinction that enables them to operate with lower administrative costs and invest more. This approach, which increases the opportunity for higher returns, is deployed in conjunction with a fee-for-performance compensation model and stakeholder risk sharing to ensure the benefit adviser’s success is always aligned with their clients’ best interests.

In addition to attending the HVA event, Rodgers will be speaking at the World Congress on how to align adviser compensation with client success and participating in the benefits adviser innovation roundtables.

Continued Rodgers, “Transparency is one of our imperatives at ABG. It’s something we believe our industry needs more of. If employers are aware of their options and advisers share best practices the industry will be able to leave behind the old ways of working and eliminate the need for planned premium increases. I’m excited to keep these important conversations going at the World Congress.”
